EmuGUI is a program that you need to test. That's why compatibility lists exist. These OS listings are categorized into OS groups.

If the bootscreen hangs, use VirtualBox, boot Windows in Safe Mode, shut it down and get back to EmuGUI. Generally, special procedures have to be done to get Windows 98 running. Do NOT add a sound card to an already installed VM or else you will render it unusable. |

Note: I am not a lawyer but I do know that it violates the End User License Agreement (EULA) from Apple. However, some German tech magazines like GIGA or PC-WELT (Yes, I'm German) wrote articles on how to install macOS on VirtualBox on a Windows machine and therefore I can say that Apple can't enforce that. A article about this situation is here. If you are at all unsure, please check the copyright laws of your country.
